Do you need a trailer for moving, collecting furniture, or transporting larger items? At Pelican, you can borrow a free trailer for up to 4 hours. You do not need to be a customer with us – everyone is welcome to use our trailers, as long as one is available.

Our trailers are easy to book and can be collected at selected Pelican centres. This makes it easy to transport your belongings, whether you are moving, shopping, or simply need extra space for today’s project.

about trailer hire

How do I book a trailer at Pelican?

We offer trailer hire in partnership with Freetrailer. You book the trailer via Freetrailer’s website or app, which is also used to collect, unlock, and return the trailer.

No. You do not need to rent a storage unit or be a customer with us to borrow a trailer.
Yes, you can borrow an available trailer free of charge for up to four hours with a “here and now” booking. Advance booking, extra hire time, and optional insurance are subject to a fee. Current prices are always shown in the Freetrailer app and on the website.
The included hire period is normally four hours. You can choose a longer period for a fee. Your exact collection and return time is shown in the booking in the app.
The Freetrailer app guides you through both collection and return. The trailer must be collected no later than 45 minutes after the start of the hire period and returned to the same Pelican branch by the selected time.
You need a car with a tow bar and a smartphone with the Freetrailer app. Bluetooth and location services must be enabled, as the app functions as your digital key. You are responsible for ensuring that the car, trailer, and driving licence are compatible.
