American Peter Walsh is a professional organizer and has written numerous books on how to simplify your life. He says he has participated in many moves where the ground rules were not followed.
Here are ten principles and details that Walsh says you should remember. Take a look at them and you might find a tip or two that you can use the next time you move. On average, Europeans move four times in their lives, and the better prepared you are, the better your move will be.
When the move is approaching
- It's all about planning and structuring if you want to have a successful move.
- Store all your notes in one place.

Note on your moving boxes which room they belong to in your new home.

This will help you remember which parts fit together when you're setting everything up in your new home.
Preparing for moving day
6. Prepare snacks and water and pack them in a cooler bag.
It's nice to have something to eat and drink when the move starts.
7. Remember; it's best not to drink alcohol the day before.

9. Always have money in your pocket.
