About storage and storerooms

Is self storage secure?

Yes, they do. All Pelicans centers have video surveillance and extra security measures. Access to the Pelicans area requires a chip or personal code. In addition, all our stores are staffed from 10:00 - 18:00 on weekdays (some sites only until 17:00) and on Saturdays from 10:00 - 14:00.

Is there a risk of moisture and frost?

No, it's not. When you store things at Pelican, you don't have to worry about moisture or frost in your storage unit. All our rooms are heated and we have modern ventilation systems to ensure that your storage unit always has a normal humidity level.

Is there enough space?

We have storage and warehouse spaces ranging from 1 - 160m2 and our rooms are generally 2.7 meters in height. If you need extra large storage units, we offer special rooms with 6 meter ceilings and large storage doors. You can learn more about this solution by contacting us on 80 20 70 40.

Can I change the room or warehouse size?

Yes, and it's free. If you suddenly find yourself in need of extra or smaller storage, we can help you quickly and easily. We can either offer you a new storage unit or an extra room. It's all up to you.

When do I have access to my room?

You have access to your storage or storage unit from 5.30 - 22.00. If you need assistance, our stores are open on weekdays between 10:00 and 18:00 (some sites until 17:30). You can find the opening hours for your local Pelican Center here.

How much space do I need?

Unique solutions

What is an XL warehouse?

An XL warehouse is a larger storage unit of up to 160 m² that either has a 6 meter ceiling or extra wide garage doors. XL storage is currently only available in Amagerbro. For more information contact us on 80 20 70 40.

What is a garage storage?

You get a personal garage storage unit that you can drive your car or van right up to. All garage storage rooms are inside our secure area, which you can only access if you have a key fob or PIN code. We currently have garage storage in the following locations: Virum, Hillerød, Gladsaxe, Sydhavnen, Rødovre and Amagerbro.

What is a Flex Warehouse?

With a flex warehouse, you get the most flexible storage solution on the market. We've combined the traditional warehouse with the option to have a workplace - whether it's an administrative workplace, a workshop or a warehouse that meets your needs. Flex Storage is a new and very popular storage product where we have combined the storage space with the possibility to set up your administrative workplace, workshop or showroom in the same room. You get a room with windows and plenty of daylight, installed heating that you can adjust yourself and electricity. And should you need more space for a shorter or longer period of time, you always have access to rent extra storage space to suit your current needs. Flex warehouses range from 35 m² to 135 m². Do you rent out office space

Answer. If you need an office space for yourself and your employees, we offer office space rental at our Gladsaxe location. For more information contact us on 80 20 70 40.

Can I rent a parking space?

Yes, you can. With your own personal parking space in or around Copenhagen, you don't have to spend time searching for parking.

You can rent parking spaces in connection with the following centers: Gladsaxe, Hillerød, Sydhavnen, Virum and Østerbro. Read more here.

Reservation

How does reserving a storage or storage unit work?

When you reserve a storage unit, a confirmation will be sent to your email. Within 24 hours we will contact you about the reservation. Contract and payment are handled at your Pelican Center. The reservation is valid for 3 days and is non-binding.

Is the reservation binding?

No, the reservation is free and non-binding. Payment is only made when the contract is signed.

How long is the lock-in period?

If you cancel your storage or storage unit before the 15th of the month, you do not have to pay for the following month unless otherwise agreed.

What documents do I need to bring?

When you need a storage unit, you need to bring photo ID with you.

I need to move

Do you offer moving services?

Yes, Pelican works with Express-Flyt, where you only pay 949,- per hour for two movers. Click here for more information or contact us on 80 20 70 40.

Do you have trailers to borrow?

Answer. If you need a trailer, you can borrow it for free. Read more about free trailers here.

Do you sell moving boxes and other moving materials?

Yes, you can. In our stores you can buy everything from moving boxes to bubble wrap. Stop by one of our stores or check out the range of materials here.

Payment options

How does payment work?

When you rent a Pelican room, the first payment is made in one of our stores. After that, payments will be made via Betalingsservice. If it's your first time renting at Pelican, there will be a set-up fee of 150,-, and it will also cost 149,- for a new unique lock for your storage unit. If you are a previous Pelican customer, there will be no set-up fee and you can reuse your previous lock.

Can I use my own lock for my storage unit?

Perhaps. At Pelican, we care about security, which is why we use special security locks. If you have used Pelican before and you have a Pelican lock, you can reuse it. If you don't have a Pelican lock, you need to buy one in the store.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we do. We accept most Danish and international credit cards.

What happens if I am late with a payment?

Typically, we'll give you a friendly reminder to pay. If you don't respond to our reminders, you risk being charged a fee. If you continuously fail to respond to any of our requests, we may have to block your storage unit or storage unit.

Security and insurance

Is it necessary to have insurance?

Yes. Pelican requires that your storage or storage unit is insured. The price varies depending on the value of the items you store. Insurance is not included in the quote price on the website.

How do I make use of my insurance?

In case of an accident, please contact the staff. They can help you through the insurance process and get your compensation paid as soon as possible.

Storage for businesses

Can I get rid of cardboard and packaging?

Yes, you can. At Pelican you can dispose of cardboard and other plastic packaging. Selected centers have containers so you don't have to waste time disposing of waste elsewhere. Contact us on 80 20 70 40 to learn more about which centers have waste containers.

Can Pelican accept freight orders when I am not present?

Availability. Our staff can receive your orders on weekdays from 10:00 - 18:00 and on weekends from 10:00 - 14:00. During this time frame, we can receive your packages and store them safely until you can come by and take them to your storage location. You will receive an SMS from us when we have received your packages.

Do you have shopping carts and other equipment to borrow?

Yes, we do. All our centers have various tools including a pallet truck, shopping cart, hand truck and ladder that you can borrow for free in-store.

Is there power access in my storage room?

Some of our storage units are equipped with power outlets. Contact us on 80 20 70 40 to find out more about where you can get a powered storage unit.

Can I park in front of my storage unit?

Parking. If you have a garage storage facility, you can park right in front of your storage unit for loading and unloading. In some of our centers, you can also drive a truck right up to your storage unit. In addition, parking at our centers is free for all customers.

Can I run my business from my storage unit?

What you need. At Pelican, we have dedicated storage units with windows and power supply so you can run your business from your storage unit. We also have office rentals if you want to locate your business next to your warehouse.

Is there free coffee?

Yes, we do. You're always welcome to stop by the store for a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

What happens if I lose my keys to my storage or storage unit?

When you buy a lock from Pelican, it comes with three keys. In the unfortunate event that you lose all your keys, we can call a locksmith to open your room for you. This costs 450,-.

How do I cancel my contract?

If you wish to terminate your Storage Unit, Pelican must receive notice no later than the 15th of a month to vacate at the end of a calendar month at the earliest. The rented unit must be cleared and cleaned no later than 12:00 noon on the day of vacating. If you have any questions or are in doubt about the termination rules, please contact your local Pelican center.

Is there free parking?

Yes, all our customers can park for free on Pelican's premises when entering their storage unit or warehouse. If you need long-term parking, you can read more about this here.

Are there things I am not allowed to store at Pelican?

Do not store highly flammable material, food or illegal items. See our terms and conditions for more detailed information.
