When Åsa and Anne-Lie at Cook’n Bloom needed warehouse capacity in connection with their new company, flexibility, service and location were crucial. Pelican Self Storage at Kungsholmen was the best choice for them.
Åsa and Anne-Lie founded Cook’n Bloom in 2013. They import and market a range of products for use in indoor and outdoor kitchens. The range includes professional kitchen utensils, high-quality serving trays, kitchen knives and stunning barbecue grills designed to bring cookery to a higher level – for everyone who loves to cook.
“Quite simply, we seek to make foodies bloom in the kitchen,” says Åsa. Åsa and Anne-Lie dreamed of working with food for years. Their passion for food was a fact long before they grabbed the bull by the horns and decided to sell professional kitchen design.
“We seized the day and exhibited at Formex (Nordic interior design fair). Success there was crucial for our taking our next steps,” recalls Anne-Lie. They did well. As they worked from home at Hägersten, they realised that they would need warehouse space.
I checked out all the players and talked to several storage centres. Pelican Self Storage at Kungsholmen was the ideal location for us.
“Initially we rented 9 m2. We now have 55 m2 of storage space divided between five units. Two of the units function as a picking warehouse. We also have two units containing all our barbecue grills and one with all our trade fair displays.''
“In the early years we grew and, instead of committing ourselves to a large warehouse, we gradually added extra storage space. This is a huge advantage for our company. We are flexible and can expand or shrink storage capacity to meet our actual requirements.''
The services Pelican offers are also an important parameter. The reception desk is manned from 10 to 18.
For us a reception service is important. We need someone to receive incoming goods and dispatch deliveries. Freight forwarding companies are never able to give precise collection times. We take care of packing and labelling while Pelican’s reception staff receives incoming goods and dispatches deliveries.
“There are stock management companies out there of course but, because we take care of order handling ourselves, Pelican is an excellent solution for us.”
Åsa and Anne-Lie also believe that the opportunity to make use of the lounge area and conference room at Pelican Self Storage is hugely beneficial.
“We have held many meetings with customers here. We even invited journalists here to introduce them to our products.”
